何時通舟車，
a. When would traffic of boats and vehicles resume?

陰氣不黲黷。
a. That will occur once negative energies are no longer overshadowing.

浮生有蕩汩，
a. Life could sometimes get risky like rapids.
b. In this life adrift one is sometimes swept along,
吾道正羈束。
a. But my path runs into dead end.
b. but now my own course is constrained.
人寰難容身，
a. I could not find a place that would take me in.
b. In the human realm it is hard to find space for oneself
石壁滑側足。
a. My predicament is like walking on slippery, uneven footpath up rocky cliff.

雲雷屯不已，
a. Hoards of rainclouds and thunders come crashing.
b. Clouds and thunder do not cease to mass,
艱險路更跼。
a. Path gets more difficult and restrained to move forward.

普天無川梁，
a. There is no bridge over river under the sun.
b. Under all Heaven there are no river bridges,
欲濟願水縮。
a. I hope water would ebb in allowing me to cross.
b. I wish the waters would shrink so I could cross.
因悲中林士，
a. Therefore I feel sad for hermits in forests
b. Thus I grieve for gentlemen in the woods:
未脫眾魚腹。
a. who could not avoid from becoming fish’s dinners.
b. they will not escape the bellies of the many fish.
舉頭向蒼天，
a. I look up to the blue sky,
b. I lift my head and face the gray heavens—
安得騎鴻鵠。
a. and wonder how I can fly away on swan’s back?
